Today is a day to remember those that have died fighting for our country and our freedom. But, it is also a day for fun in the sun, getting together with family and friends, grilling, and the beginning of summer! It is also a time when the “weekend warrior” comes out! Throwing around the baseball, or frisbee, getting out on the water, or in the water to swim and ski, and taking on those landscaping projects at home can cause problems that ruin your summer fun! Injuries can happen with the sudden increase in activity that comes with the summer months. That shoulder you tweaked this winter while shoveling snow can come back and cause pain this summer. Don’t wait to get it checked out. Don’t let minor issues become big ones that hamper your ability to have fun this summer!
Also, those athletes participating in summer camps and conditioning for fall sports should consider coming in for our Wellness Assessment. This will help identify areas of muscle imbalance, core weakness, or issues with flexibility that are limiting you from achieving your full potential in your sport! We can help identify those areas that need work so you can run faster, jump higher, and hit harder come fall. We’ll design an exercise program specifically for you to correct those imbalances and “fill in the gaps,” supplementing your conditioning. By the end of the summer, you’ll be at the top of your game!
